The story in four moves

Client inputMy work
  1. Client input · 01 They came with

A loved menu, founders who build community, and 29 locations across the US and Canada. A name that read as breakfast, a mostly diaspora crowd, and sales swinging as competition grew.

  2. 02 I found

The difference was the room, more than the menu. Americans reward predictability and loneliness is real, and India already has a word for the room people return to: the adda.

  3. 03 I built

The positioning, Atithi Devo Bhava as the brand heart, 15 dish narratives, the identity and design system, 10+ store and campaign templates, and the brand jingle “Su Scene Che?”, which I wrote and produced.

  4. 04 It changed

Every location now hosts the same way, and the marketing built on this brand lifted online sales 27.24% in 8 months.

My part

I led the rebrand end to end, from the diagnosis to the system every store now runs on.

The name was keeping new guests out.

Eggholic read as breakfast and eggs only, and the crowd skewed heavily South Asian. Two truths opened it up: Americans prefer predictability, and loneliness is a real cultural driver. The place matters as much as the food.

02Brand HeartLed

Atithi Devo Bhava: the guest comes first.

The rebrand is anchored in the belief that the guest is god. Eggholic became a warm, high-energy Indian food home, true to founders who love food and build community.

03Brand PromiseLed

A competitor can copy a dish. Belonging is harder.

I moved the difference off “Indian street food” and onto community: the adda, a home away from home, strongest in Gujarati culture. Three pillars hold it: cultural identity, experience design and emotional value.

04Brand StoryShaped

Fifteen dishes, and a jingle the whole adda can sing.

The communication moved from influencer-led to behaviour-led, with a narrative for each of the top 15 dishes. I wrote and produced the brand jingle, “Su Scene Che?”, which code-switches between Gujarati, Hindi and English because its audience does too.

05Visual Identity DirectionShaped

One system, 29 front doors.

I steered a full identity and design system, plus a suite of 10+ store and campaign templates, built so every location looks and feels like the same home.

06Consumer ExperienceShaped

The same welcome in every city.

Every store follows the same system, so a guest in Illinois gets the welcome a guest in Canada gets.

07Strategy and OperationsLed

Shipped as one system, rolled out store by store.

I managed Eggholic 2.0 end to end: scope, deliverables and status across strategy, identity and templates, plus the positioning roadmap that the growth work then built on.
